Our special access to shoot on location on Puerto Rico’s Vieques Island was surely a treat, especially when working with the amazingly beautiful model, Amanda Streich. Summer, we are ready for you!
We traveled all over the island, shooting on the famous Black Beach (Playa Negra) with stunning white horses from Esperanza Riding Company, to the Red Beach (Playa Caracas, where Victoria’s Secret recently shot their Angels Swim campaign), to a few other amazing beaches and Casa Cielo, the Sky Mansion. What an amazing view of the island and the ocean when at the Mansion, we didn’t want to leave, but who would?
Our trip was complete with our stay at the Hix Island House, an unexpected ultra-modern retreat in the middle of the island wilderness, and a favorite local hangout for some of the wild horses of the island.

To round out our adventure, there is nothing better than a great time on a Catamaran.. Thanks to Sea Vieques and her captain, Judi Marcus we were able to do just that. We quickly got our sea legs and enjoyed the luxury of the yacht, then later we swam back to shore and all enjoyed a beer and great food at Al’s Mar Azul.

It was tough to leave this paradise.
We all wished we could stay to play with the horses, enjoy life with the locals and the vast variety of beaches..
It’s amazing to me how diverse this island is.. many different beaches, each with their own character, and so many hidden trails to enjoy.. The island has a history of Military use, so there are many structures still left on the island, making for a sometimes odd cinematic experience, I felt like we were on the set of the tv show “LOST”.
The whole trip was amazing, and we all had lots of fun.. I unfortunately didn’t get to see the Bio Beach at night since it was a full moon while we were there, so it looks like we’ll have to go back!
